Three Kingdoms, One Princess (2)

Chapter One

Mel sat in front of her computer. She had a blank word processing document open. Her fingers hovered over the keyboard. Mel waited. This shouldn't be so hard. Not for me. She thought to herself. Mel had always had way to much imagination and needed to do something with it. But whenever she sat down to write down her ideas, her mind went completely blank. Then a tid-bit of idea crept into her mind and Mel was quick to type it out.

Three Kingdoms, One Princess

She typed fast, as not to loose the thought. But the moment her fingers touched the keys, all inspiration on the subject left her mind once more. "Aw c'mon." She wined. Mel sighed and saved the document. "When will my mind cooperate with me?" She asked falling onto her bed. Just then an idea came to her mind. Mel grabbed her sketch book and a pencil from the dresser beside her bed and began to draw.
About fifteen minutes later, Mel had a picture of a boy drawn. She drew the boy to look about eighteen. He had long shoulder length black hair. He was wearing an old-fashioned Victorian-style vampire shirt and loose fitting pants with big black boots. Mel had drawn one of his eyes off to the side of the page so she could draw it big and could get all the details in. The boy's eyes were like those of a cats. Feeling happy with herself, Mel picked up her pencil box and sorted through the colors until she found all the colors she wanted. then she began to color the boy's clothes, skin, and eyes. His shirt and pants were an array of dark purples. She colored his skin pale, like that of a porcelain doll. His eyes were a unearthly glowing light blue. "And now for a name..." Mel pondered. "Something that starts with a 'C'..." She mumbled, racking her brain. Then it cam to her "Caranthian." She announced, writing the name down on the page in fancy letters. Mel put her sketch book back on the dresser and lay down on her bed. She looked up to the ceiling, it was painted like a starry night sky with a crescent moon. Mel's eye started to become heavy and she was having a hard time keeping them open. Then she let her eyes close and drifted off to sleep.
