Poem

Here is a poem I had to write for poetry class.
Tell me what you think!

-Mischief

When we are young, we are taught to obey.
They set before us a list of strict rules,
but, of course, we do not follow the fools.
Instead we follow Jackal, Fox, and friends,
and where we go from there it depends.
Dear Jackal cheats at love and then picks the
shackles. The foxes lock innocence in
boxes and never lets it back out again.
Their friend the Snake has done both of these things,
and because of this he can grant us wings.
Look towards the darkness of the sunset,
you'll see Jackal untie her red corset,
Fox comes to lock her in the dark closet,
and Snakes ends it all with a bloody banquet.

I love this :) I am reading "The Bestiary" right now by Nicholas Christopher ( I think?) and your poem reminds me of this novel... can't wait to read more!
